| Briarcliff Middle School - Mountain Lakes School District |
A visit to the Language Arts and Social Studies classrooms in the Briarcliff Middle School will find a collection of Smart Boards, overhead projectors, desktop and laptop computers. In one classroom you might see the children word processing or using Inspiration on wireless laptops, while others might be at the Smart Board sharing their work with the rest of the class.
You might think it predictable that a young, tech savvy teacher would embrace technology, but check in the next classroom where a more veteran teacher is teaching the children about the migration of the ancient Romans with a series of maps displayed on her Smart Board showing the progression of the migration. She will will be the first to tell you that she knows nothing about technology, but her enthusiasm for what the technology brings to her teaching is infectious.
Each of the first six classrooms were equipped with a Smart Board, a 10-iBook mobile Lab, a eMac and printer. All of this equipment has been fully integrated into the district network. Initially there were mixed reactions from the teachers. Some teachers were excited and others were not as enthusiastic. The extensive training, including some one-on-one training session, and classroom observation by Keyboard Consultants helped the teachers get through the transition period. In fact one teacher commented, "With the Smart Board, even the most routine grammar drills become exciting."
In Social Studies students have prepared for the National Geography Bee by visiting a variety of websites and using Mapmakers Toolkit to create their own maps. Each day the students have access to the array of resources available on the internet and the teacher is able to use the Smart Board to model the implementation of these websites. Access to this technology has made it much easier for teachers to differentiate instruction and design lessons that build on individual learning strengths.
As of March 2005, Briarcliff School will be able to boast of having a Smart Board in every classroom in order to reach out and touch every student in their school with this engaging technology, and there will be still more news from the other schools within the district as they continue to implement this technology throughout the district!

| Clifton Public Schools |
The Clifton Board of Education has been at the forefront of introducing technology into the classroom. With well over eighty (80) Smart Boards installed throughout the district, and a track record of proven success in using this exciting technology, it was decided to equip every classroom in their new Public School #17, which just opened for the 2004-2005 school year, with Smart Boards. Thirty-eight (38) classrooms have permanently mounted Smart Boards and ceiling mounted LCD projection systems!
Their curriculum person has developed an extensive and effective library of curriculum related lesson activities for all grade levels and subject areas. Her goal is to provide the content necessary to take the latest technology, such as the Smart Board, to the next level so as to truly engage the students in the learning process. BURGDORFF ERA REALTORS - Ridgewood
This real estate sales office was contacted directly by Xerox some time after they purchased their Phaser 6200 color laser printer. As a result, a formal case history was created using the feedback received from the customer.
Regarding the printer's performance they commented... "The Phaser 6200 is a real time-saver. It's made possible things that would have been too cost prohibitive in the past, like color flyers and brochures that change often. And the speed's as fast as the black and white printer I use..."
Initially, we were contacted by their office looking for a recommendation to help them acheive their goal of cutting costs, while improving their customer flyers, brochures and postcard communications. On our response and support for their needs their comments were... "I was very happy with the local dealer attention...", "During installation he called Xerox support to quickly resolve issues. I wouldn't have these kinds of connections without your local dealer organization. I will continue to buy my stuff through them."
If you would like to read more about this customer and how they use their Xerox color laser printer, you can view or download the entire case history by clicking HERE.
This is one of our customers who has realized the benefits of using color to promote a message and help grow their business, not to mention to stand out in their particular market... real estate sales. In addition to helping with their color printing needs, we also provided the network assistance necessary to insure a successful installation of their color laser printer AND a very successful mailing campaign!
